Welcome to Russ' Collision Center website. Russ, on the right above, has been in the automotive repair and customization business for over 35 years. Russ maintains currency with industry standards and holds I-CAR and Dale Carnegie certifications. He has thoroughly enjoyed seeing his passion grow from humble beginnings to the 12,000 square foot facility he oversees today.
Building a business is hard work and requires years of dedication. One does not survive in the collision and customization business without building enduring relationships. Russ strives to provide professional quality work while developing a reputation for outstanding customer service.
To say Russ has a passion for cars is an understatement. Russ grew up in Southern California during the glory days of muscle cars. Those factory hot rods made a real impression on Russ. He knew he had to be part of the car culture. At the age of 17, he began bracket racing with a 14 second El Camino. Russ worked tirelessly on the El Camino and was soon running 12-second quarter mile times.
Russ started out doing custom painting and graphics from a simple garage, but soon branched into customizing as requests for his talents grew. As Russ' reputation and business developed so did his desire for racecars. Drag racing was at the core of Russ' passion and he was able to campaign several successful cars before leaving racing to focus his efforts on his career.
Before running his own business, Russ worked for several shops in San Diego. Determined to learn all facets of the industry he worked as a tech in the shop and moved to the office to serve as an estimator. In the 80’s, Russ ran the Body Shop for Red Riches Ford in Encinitas California now know as Encinitas Ford.
In the 90’s, Russ set his focus on starting a personal business. With tenacity and unrelenting attention to detail, Russ pushed forward. With each project a new relationship formed. The hard work and attention to customer service paid off. The reward is the wonderful facility you will see on the pages of Russ' web site.
After 15 years of hard work and dedication to his customers, Russ is returning to Drag Racing. Previously, Russ' dragster was running 8.90 at over 150 miles per hour. Currently, Russ is building a 270-inch dragster to campaign in Top Dragster, which should be capable or running in the sixes at over 200 miles per hour. Russ plans to run the car with the help of his Russ Collision Center crew in 2014. In addition, in 2014, Russ' racing exploits will be available on a new web site and you will be able to follow him on social media.
